FAQ
How do you introduce the bridal party at the wedding reception?
When introducing a bridal party, what do you say?
Wedding parties (bridal parties) usually line up outside the reception room and the DJ announces them in the following order:
- Parents of the couple
- Each wedding party couple (typically you pair up with the same person that you walked out of the ceremony with)
- The maid of honor and best man
- The couple
Tips: If you do not want to announce each couple separately, you can simply announce all the groomsmen at once, then all the bridesmaids at once (there are some great songs to use for this. We made a note of which ones to use for group entrances).
How to get the best photos of your bridal party (wedding party) entrance at the wedding reception?
You will want to coordinate with your photographer and video team for the best photo results at the bridal party entrance (and the entrance of the couple).
A few times, bridal party members do something fun such as a funny dance or add a prop. Some wedding party members might do this too soon (not in the right location), if not coordinated.
The light/flash set up in the middle of the dance floor is typically a part of your photo/video team. The groups entering the room will have to wait until they get into the room before doing their thing.
Couples may take a step into the room, do their dance, and then walk away before they reach the best light.
You will receive instructions from your photographer like, “walk at least 10 feet before doing your dance” or “wait until you hit the edge of the dance floor“.
